Internship Program
At Bailiwick Press, we believe it's important to help educate the next generation of publishers, editors, writers, and illustrators.
But what do interns do?
Bailiwick's internship program exposes interns to all facets of publishing. Our interns have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience with the entire cycle of book publishing, from concept to draft, editing, layout, printing, and marketing. They:
• attend editorial meetings.
• give input on the current books-in-progress.
• help review submissions.
• proofread.
• do marketing projects of all kinds, from list-building and mailings to website updates, videos, and event support.
Bailiwick offers semester-long internships worth 2-3 college credits (6-9 hours of work per week, 80-120 hours of work for the semester). We have a relationship with the English department at Colorado State University but are also open to interns from other schools as well as independent interns.

Our current interns: Spring 2017
Megan Valentine
Megan is planning to join the editing and publishing field, focusing on book publishing, after finishing her B.A. in English Literature from Colorado State University. Her hope is to someday help increase children’s literacy in underdeveloped areas. When she is not reading, during her copious amounts of free time, she enjoys being outdoors hiking, climbing, or simply exploring. She also loves to cook and spend time traveling. |
Austin Weeks
Austin is finishing a B.A. in Creative Writing at Colorado State University. He has a passion for creating and designing characters, focusing on both written and visual art. He hopes in the future to write graphic novels about his own original characters. In his free time, Austin reads graphic novels, watches movies, and draws and designs characters for his stories. |
